Lusk-Tanner, age 8, died at 8:45pm on the 19th September 2007 at her home surrounded by her loving
family after a 4 year courageous battle with Ewings Sarcoma of the skull - a childhood cancer. She
was diagnosed 19th May 2003. Beloved daughter, kind and generous sister and brave warrior. Tanner
was born in Santa Clarita, CA on Nomveber 12, 1998. Tanner was diagnosed with Ewing's Sarcoma of
her skull at the age of 4 and underwent a year of surgeries, chemo and radiation. For 7 months she
enjoyed remission and started school until she relapsed. Given little hope from doctors in
California, Tanner moved to Omaha with her family to receive care from doctors who had as much fight
in them as she did. With steadfast courage, Tanner faced even more surgeries, chemo, radiation and
a stem cell transplant. She lived life to the fullest while relentlessly fighting her disease.
With her outgoing and fiesty personality, Tanner injected fun into every situation, enjoying
baseball, video games, animals, fishing and making crafts. She attended Wheeler Elementary, played
softball for the Comets and enjoyed the many friends she made so easily. Tanner adored her
teachers, friends, cousins and the wonderful staff at the hospitals where she was treated, including
Omaha Children's Hospital, The Nebraska Medical Center, Loma Linda and UCLA. Even with all the
challenges she faced, Tanner cared so much for others in need. She sold crafts and lemonade to buy
gifts for other sick children and with her team, Tanner's Termites, raised over $10,000 this summer
at a walk for childhood cancer research. Tanner was a pint sized hero with a huge heart and she
will forever live in the hearts and minds of those that knew her personally and through her website
(www.tannerville.com). Tanner will be dearly missed by her parents, Chris and Marjorie (Radtke)
Lusk, sister Hope and brother Brody. Other survivors include her grandparents Gus and Marilee
Davis, Linda Radtke and Julie Davis; beloved aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
In celebration of Tanner's incredible spirit, a visitation with the family will be held on 9/23/07
at John A. Gentleman at 14151 Pacific Street, Omaha, NE from 4-8 p.m. In honor of Tanner and her
love for sports, we ask that those attending her visitation wear sports jerseys. Memorial serivces
will be held on 9/24/07 at Lutheran Church of the Master West Campus, 1207 N. Cleveland Blvd.,
Omaha, NE at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the family of Tanner Lusk.
Happy Birthday In Heaven - by Winnie Lovett
"Happy Birthday Tanner"
It's sure to be the best one yet,
Though you left us here behind.
Did you think that we'd forget?
Your cake this year, will surely be,
A beauty to behold.
With the icing made of Silver,
And the candles made of Gold.
Yes, your birthday in Heaven,
Will be such a grand affair.
And I know you'll look so lovely,
With a halo in your hair.
The Angels will come from everywhere,
To sing your birthday song.
And I know they'll be so happy,
That you've joined, God's Happy Throng.
No I can't send a card this year,
Or give a gift so fine.
So I'll just send a special prayer,
To that wonderful Daughter of yours.
COMFORT
2 Cor. 1:3-5
Surrounded by friends
yet all alone
the one I loved
God has called home
the hugs of friends
helps ease the pain
and I know my loss
is my loved one's gain
but tears now flow
across my face
as I long for just
one more embrace
then comfort comes
and I see Christ's face
He hugs my loved one
and I feel God's grace.
unknown
to tanner's family

Did you ever feel a tiny raindrop
trickle down from the sky
and land upon your cheek
when there is no rain in sight….
and wonder where it came from
when the day is sunny and bright?
♥*•.
Did you ever hear someone
clearly call out your name,
and when you turned to look
there’s not a familiar face
anywhere around
and wonder where it came from,
when the voice was there
without an ounce of doubt?
♥*•.
The answer is quite simple you see,
Angels are everywhere
watching over you and me….
Though at times we don’t feel
a presence at our side.
Angels are always there
morning, noon and night,
in the most mysterious of ways….
looking after us with much love
forever and always.

Mom, Please Listen
Mom, please listen to me
as I take the time to write.
I see parents struggling daily,
Their pain is such a fight...
All of us who've gone
And left the rest of you behind...
We're ok, Mom, I promise ...
Heaven is beautiful and God is kind.
You used to tell me that one day
God would call and take you home.
You told me you'd make me strong
So I would stand tall when alone.
But things happen, Mom
That does not go in our plans,
I wasn't scared, Mom,
When God held out his hand.
I didn't want to leave you,
I didn't have time to say good-bye
When the angels said, "Come with us"
There wasn't time to question why.
I've watched you daily, Mom.
It hurts to see you cry.
I don't want you to be unhappy,
Just because we didn't get to say good-bye.
Tell others what I'm telling you,
So many parents need to know
That Earth was just a layover
We had another place to go.
I know you miss me, Mom
I know your heart was broken in two.
But God really neededme
Because my earthly life was through.
I''m always alongside you...
I smile and touch your hair.
I whisper "Mom, I love you"
You just can't see me there.
I'm the one that gently touches you
On your shoulder when you're sad.
I'm happy now that you finally found
God again, and are no longer mad.
Tell the parents, Mom, for me
That all of us kids are okay.
God had plans for our lives
When he called us home that day.
I love you, Mom, I always will
And remember I'm not far away.
We're going to be together
When God calls out your name.
LOVE ALWAYS ALISON XXXXXX
